Companies and organizations can use a fun experience like the Inspiration Walk to raise money for a great cause. The Inspiration Walk is another way employees can work together to complete an important task, and at the end feel satisfied that they made a difference in their community. This will be a day that your employees will continue to talk about for weeks and months to come.

Don't be afraid to make fundraising, for the walk, a fun creative task. Give awards for most donations received, for the person who received donations from the most people, or most creative team slogan. Better yet, make an office trophy and have fellow co-workers vote one person the MVF (Most Valuable Fundraiser). The most important thing is for everyone to have fun. Special Olympic athletes would want it that way.

A great way to connect with the Baltimore County community is by participating in our Inspiration Walk. The Inspiration Walk will attract Special Olympics athletes, volunteers, coaches, family members, friends, and hundreds of people from every walk of life. There is no better way to bridge the gap in a community than to talk with those you serve in an informal setting. At the same time walk participants will receive information about intellectual disabilities and the resources that are available. There are over 100,000 Maryland residents with an intellectual disability or closely related developmental disability. The more information that is shared about intellectual disabilities, and the help that is out there, the better somebody's life can be.

Start a team in your company and show your support for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Sponsor a Sign and Help to inspire by sponsoring an Inspiration Sign. The Inspiration Signs will be posted along the course and provide stories about our Special Olympic athletes and facts about our Special Olympic programs. You can sponsor a sign for $100 and have your name or organization included on the sign. Complete the sponsorship form that is on the Inspiration Walk registration sheet and return with payment of $100. Make checks payable to Special Olympics MD Baltimore County/Inspiration Sign. Sponsorships must be received by April 1, 2008.
